LYNETTE MADSEN JENSEN
Lynette Madsen Jensen was born June 8, 1964 in Ogden, Utah to John M. and Diane Dursteler Madsen. She passed away Nov. 5, 2006 in La Mesa, CA at the age of 42 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lynette married Mark Jensen Nov. 4, 1992 and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple but was later divorced.
Lynette attended schools in Keyworth, near Nottingham, and in Bristol, England, Orem and Salt Lake City, UT, and was varsity cheerleader at Hillcrest High School during her 11th and 12th grades. She was an outstanding student with a loving and captivating personality. She was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at Weber State College where she attended two years. She worked as a nanny in New Jersey and in Florida. She was then called on a full-time Church Service Proselyting Mission for 18 months, and served under the direction of the President of the Florida Ft Lauderdale Mission. Later she earned a degree in Nuclear Medicine. After being blessed with children she devoted her life to them. She was a most caring and giving person and would share anything she had with others in need.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the host of priesthood leaders, Relief Society sisters, and families and friends who surrounded her and gave her and her children such generous and Christ-like care. The family also wishes to express gratitude to the many skilled and wonderful physicians, healthcare professionals and therapists, and Church members and friends who assisted and comforted her to the end of her mortal life.
Lynette is survived by her five children: Melissa Nicole and Thomas Hunter of St. George, UT and Nicholas James (Nick), Lillian Alexis (Lilly) and Ashley Danielle, of Spring Valley, CA. The oldest of six children, Lynette is survived by her parents, John and Diane Madsen of Sandy, UT; three sisters: Lisa Rennaker of Portland, OR, Shelly Heyborne of Sandy, UT, and Amy Marie James of Las Vegas, NV; one brother: John Max Madsen, Jr. of Bountiful, UT; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Allen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Spring Valley Ward Chapel, 3348 Sweetwater Springs Blvd, Spring Valley CA, preceded by a viewing at 9:00 AM.
A viewing will also be held in the Sandy Utah Cottonwood Creek Stake Center, 1553 East Creek Road, on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Graveside Services and interment will be at 12:00 noon at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
