Maria Gloria Amezquita

Gloria Amezquita-Barron, age 71, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 11, 1954, in Guanajuato, Mexico to Luz and Felisa Amezquita. She dedicated her life to her three sons, her grandchildren and beloved dogs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Gloria was a wonderful cook who expressed her love through the meals she prepared and shared with her family.

She deeply cherished her dogs Muñeca, Coco, Paloma and Lupe – who brought her constant companionship, comfort, and joy. Gloria is survived by her children, Jose (Melinda), Manuel (Crystal), and Javier (Lucy). Her fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many extended family members who will miss her dearly. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Luz and Felisa Amezquita, her sister, Francisca Amezquita-Perez and her brother Salvador Amezquita.

A funeral service will be held on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at City View Mortuary 1001 East 11th Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will be at Elysian Burial Gardens 1075 East 4580 South Millcreek, Utah.

Gloria will forever be remembered for her love, and the legacy she leaves behind in the hearts of those who loved her.

Gloria Amezquita-Barron, de 71 años, falleció pacíficamente el 6 de enero de 2026, con todos sus seres queridos presentes. Nació el 11 de marzo de 1954 en Guanajuato, México, hija de Luz y Felisa Amezquita. Dedicó su vida a sus tres hijos, sus nietos y sus queridos perros. Fue una madre, abuela, suegra y amiga cariñosa. Gloria era una cocinera maravillosa que expresaba su amor a través de las comidas que preparaba y compartía con su familia.

Quería mucho a sus perros Muñeca, Cocó, Paloma y Lupe, quienes le brindaron constante compañía, consuelo y alegría. A Gloria le sobreviven sus hijos, José (Melinda), Manuel (Crystal) y Javier (Lucy); sus catorce nietos, siete bisnietos y muchos otros familiares que la extrañarán profundamente. A Gloria le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Luz y Felisa Amezquita, su hermana, Francisca Amezquita-Perez, y su hermano Salvador Amezquita.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el día 17 de enero de 2026 a las 11:00 a.m. en City View Mortuary, ubicada en 1001 East 11th Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah. El entierro será en Elysian Burial Gardens, ubicado en 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek, Utah.

Gloria será recordada por siempre por su amor y el legado que deja en los corazones de quienes la amaban.
