Maria Mora

Maria Mora, born on April 28, 1926, in Chihuahua, Mexico, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Bountiful, Utah, United States. She was just two months shy of her 100th birthday. 

A mother of 12 children, Maria was blessed with two sets of twins—one set of girls and one set of boys. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She leaves behind her children Baldo, Carmela, Cande, Yola, Eddy, Chardo, Gil, and Irma, as well as numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children Socorro, Mari, Mari-Ines, and Heriberto.

When Maria was young, she found joy in crocheting and embraced the simple beauty of ranch life. She loved the open skies, the rhythm of the land, and the comfort of creating something with her hands. Those early passions reflected her patient spirit and deep appreciation for a life rooted in hard work and love.

Dancing and music were a second language to her. In every step, a story. In every melody, a memory. Even now, when the music softly plays, we feel her there, dancing. Throughout her life, she found joy and strength within the embrace of the Catholic Church. She marked her days with quiet, faithful prayer and her years with sacred celebrations.Maria will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
