Alene Marie Backman Nyborg

Alene was born to James and Doris Backman on August 9, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was known for her zest for life, her spit-fire attitude, and her never ending love for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading with her morning coffee, karaoke, time in the garden, and overall, being outdoors. 

She married the love of her life, Tony Lee Nyborg on October 6, 1979 in Elko, Nevada. They continued to build their lives together with their children, Jodi Ainger, Robbie Peterson, Melanie Vincent (Nate), and Jason Nyborg. They enjoyed spending time with their kids, twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren ... For the most part anyway. 

Alene passed away, peacefully surrounded by family on November 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Darwin Nyborg, her brothers, Jimmy and Tom Backman, brother-in-law, Craig Nyborg, and her sister, Lisa Clark. 

She is survived by Tony, her mother-in-law Jeannine Nyborg, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her siblings, Chris Taradash (Marty), Ron Backman (Barbara), Randy Backman (Theresa), and Kim Gallegos; who all meant the world to her.

Alene’s love for life and feisty personality was infectious to all those that knew her. Her contagious laugh will always be remembered.

An open house, pot-luck celebration of life will be held in her honor on December 3, 2022 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles - 1104 W 2100 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84119 between 2-6 pm.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, please send photos and videos you may have of her to amandalrose90@gmail.com. These photos will be used to create a memorial video for her family and will be played at her celebration of life.
