Mary Kathleen (Cooper) Hall, age 78, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, passed away peacefully Friday, January 13, 2022, at her home in Salt Lake, Utah surrounded by her family.

Born September 12, 1943, in Salt Lake to Wallace Noel Cooper and Rosamond Elizabeth (Lindquist) Cooper, she was the eldest of seven children. She lived in Utah all her life. She married the love of her life Kenneth Robert Hall on June 24, 1963. Ken preceeded her in death in 2014.

Kathy was known for her teaching career which spanned 35 years. She taught Kindergarten and First Grade. She received her Bachelor of Education from Utah State University and her Master of Education from Westminster College. While she was working on her bachelor, she substitute taught to cover educational expenses. She had a way of understanding her students and presenting curriculum to all levels of learners. She was very accepting and inclusive of all her students. She was a mentor to other faculty members. She participated in the Utah Educational System where she planned professional and social events.

Kathy supported the arts, symphony guild (Vice President from 2019 to present), ballet, opera, Salt Lake Acting Company and Pioneer Memorial Theater. She took lifelong learning classes, loved to travel with Ken and enjoyed trips the Galapagos Islands, China, and the Rhine River. She was an avid reader and was president of Daria in 2019. She was an accomplished Bridge player, talented interior designer, seamstress and upholsterer. She also was a dedicated “yard lunatic” where she spent hours among her flowers, shrubs, and vines.

Kathy is survived by her children Anthony Todd Hall (Judy) and Britney Alexander (Ron), Parker Anthony Alexander (grandson) and her brothers and sisters, Wallace Cooper 2 (Martha) Marlene Barnum (Derril), Lynn Cooper (Marilyn), Marilee Fetterman (Jack), Laurie Cooper, and Mike Cooper (Jayne)
