Maurice Dean Black

Maurice Dean Black Jr, died at his home on April 22, 2018. He was born on December 19, 1946 to Maurice Dean Black Sr. and Myrtle (Wentz) Black. He married Karen Heninger. They had four children.

In 1972 he graduated with a Masters of Engineering from BYU. He was a System Dynamic Specialist for North American Aviation Rocketdyne Division. Maurice loved to study anything that flies, from birds to planes, to rockets. He published books on the history of Rocket Technology and Birds in Flight.

Maurice cherished every moment spent with his kids and grandkids; and spoke fondly of his friends at table 12 at the Taylorsville Senior Center.

Surviving Maurice are his children: Byron Black, Stanfor Black, Elaine Vandiver, and Karla Nelson; and grandchildren: Will, Tom, Max, Jack, Ryan, Tyler, Logan, Wake, Wyatt, Kylie, Jason, Boston, and Zoe.

A Graveside service will be held at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah.
