Michael Ray Wilkinson

MICHAEL RAY WILKINSON On November 26, 2012, with paint brush in hand, Mike Wilkinson changed his venue for telling stories and spreading laughter. Born June 17, 1949, in Denver, Colorado; parents Virginia V and Wayne G Wilkinson. He married Debbie Guevara October 5, 1996, and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple February 8, 2008. Mike loved the Lord with his whole heart and soul and served in numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most recently in the Bé®shopbric of the Westbrook 8th Ward. He loved the temple and served as a temple Worker in the Jordan River Temple for over 15 years. Being a dad and playful grandpa brought him extreme joy. His time in the "salt mines" included Geneva Steel, several sign-development companies, and UDOT. He was a skilled artist, whose love of God and country were evident by his military service and through his art pieces and amazing portraiture. He is best known around town for his many little sayings, his souped up and rebuilt hot rod, his bear hugs, his repeated blasts of rock music, sharing his movie faves, and his joy in working in the yard. Survived by wife Debbie, siblings: Kent (Debbie), David; in-laws and travel companions, Dave, Theresa; children: Chad (Melanie), Rebecca (Tyson), Kristine (Terry), Ginny (Lynn), Kimberly, Joshua, Jeremiah; 12 adorable grandchildren; many unforgettable family and friends. Even with his lifelong emotional challenges, he finished his Work as a champion. He now joins his parents and many close family members. Join us to celebrate his life and goodness Friday November 30th, 6-8 pm; and before the service on December 1st from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral follows at 11am. Both will be at Westbrook LDS Meetinghouse, 6364 South 3200 West, West Jordan, Utah More information and condolences, goto www.serenicare.com.
