Milton Dee Barnes

Milton Dee Barnes, of Bountiful, Utah, passed away peacefully on his 81st birthday, at home surrounded by his family.

Milt was born on January 27, 1937, to Edwin and Alta Barnes, the 4th of 7 children. He was raised in Lewisville, Idaho, and attended Rigby High School. He served an LDS mission to the Eastern States and graduated from Brigham Young University, where he met his wife Susan. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on July 26, 1963, and together raised 6 children and now enjoy 23 grandchildren.

Milt had a lifelong testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings. He especially loved serving as Bishop of the Helix YSA Ward in San Diego, and as a temple worker in both the San Diego and Bountiful Temples.

He is survived by his wife Susan, children Julie (Bruce Nielsen), Doug (Jessica), Dave (Kirstin), Jeff (Allie), Greg (Jen), Melené (Steve Hauck). He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and three infant children.

We invite you to visit with Milt’s family from 10:30AM to 12:00PM on Thursday, Febuary 1, 2018, with funeral services beginning at 12:00PM held at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 Mueller Park Rd, Bountiful, Utah. Internment will take place at Memorial Lakeview Cemetery.
