Nicholas Richard Schmittroth III 1976 - 2006
Nicholas Richard Schmittroth, 30, loving husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend and teacher passed away peacefully on October 6 after a courageous battle with Melanoma. Nick was born March 13, 1976 to Leslie Featherston and Richard Schmittroth. Nick graduated from Alta High School, University of Utah and received his Masters Degree from Louisiana Tech University.
Nick loved travel and the outdoors. He liked to spend time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) and worked to improve the lives of blind individuals. He married Tai Tomasi on March 25, 2006.
Nick is survived by his "sweetie" Tai, mother Leslie Featherston, Father Richard Schmittroth (Bobby Neel), sister Rebecca (Mishec) Ntshalintshali, niece Serena who could always make him smile, grandmothers Deonne Schmittroth and Rhea Horne, numerous family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Thurs. October 12, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church 569 S 1300 E in Salt Lake City. Friends and Family may call beginning at 11:30 a.m. prior to service.
The family would like to thank Huntsman Cancer Hospital and Rocky Mountain Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nick Schmittroth Memorial Fund c/o NFB of Utah 132 Penman Lane Bountiful UT 84010.
