Patricia, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the age of 78 at Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home in Logan, Utah. She was born on July 22, 1935 to Walter and Mary Virginia Weisgarber in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the youngest of four children. Her siblings preceded her in death: brothers, Walter and Fred, and sister, Virginia. Patricia married Joseph Bacher whom was enlisted in the Army; a Staff Sergeant with the Green Berets. They raised their only child, daughter, Terrie Lee Bacher (Jay) Hardman. Patricia later divorced and married Gordon Evenson. When Gordon passed away, Terrie and Jay moved her from Tennessee to Utah. The last four years of her life she was given the wonderful opportunity to spend time with her two granddaughters, Jessica and Victoria Hardman. The girls loved spending time with their Grandmother. Patricia's wonderful personality would always have them laughing. They were always excited to bring her home from the nursing home to visit for a few days. One of Patricia's most favorite moments was that her daughter, Terrie, had a love for horses since she was four years old. Patricia finally has the opportunity to see Terrie have her own horse and watch her ride. On occasion, Patricia would sit with the horses, petting them and talking to them. This was one of Terrie's best memories. Terrie enjoyed how beautiful her mother thought Utah was and even enjoyed a couple of snowball fights. Patricia loved to spend time with all of her family members and especially enjoyed family reunions in Tennessee. She spent a lot of time with her brother, Fred, his wife, Peggy, and their children: Pam, Fred, Penny, and Danny. She was extremely close to her sister, Virginia, Virginia's husband, Buddy Goosie, and their children: Sara Lynn Goosie Roach, Jody Goosie Lowe, Jeannie Goosie Lakins, and Chuck Goosie. All of the girls in the family seemed like they were Patricia's daughters and Terrie's sisters. Patricia had wonderful times with all the relatives, going to the Smoky Mountains, swimming and fishing. She loved being at her mother's house with all the kids catching lighting bugs and waiting for the ice cream man to get banana popsicles. Also, spending time at the lake on the houseboats. Her personality and sense of humor would always keep you laughing. Most of all, she was the most loving mother and best friend. Heartfelt thanks to the nursing home and support staff at Sunshine Terrace. All the staff was so wonderful to Patricia. She loved it there and they loved her. Special thanks to the Lee family, Katrena, Linda, and Jim for all their help and support over the years. Patricia's wish was to be cremated. A small private memorial service will be held for Patricia at the top of the Snow Basin Ski Resort. Please share your condolences online at serenicare.com.
