Pauline Lavonne Kunz
Pauline Lavonne Kunz 1940 ~ 2006 Our beloved wife, mother, (great) grandmother, and friend passed away August 24, 2006 from an aorta aneurism that was a shock to all. She was cared for by the wonderful staffs at Jordan Valley Hospital and then life flighted to LDS Hospital.
Pauline was born March 4, 1940 in Hermiston, Oregon to Paul and Audrey Evelyn (Albee) VanArsdale. She was married to Joseph Wayne Kunz Sr. February 16, 1967 in Elko, Nevada. Together they have eight children (yours, mine, and ours), Sherile Rickman-Parke (Eddie), Glenn (GJ) Bell (Jean), Dani Moore (Jim), Marieanne Kunz, Vancel Kunz (Traci); and three stepsons. Stepson, Roger Kunz is deceased (Katrina); 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pauline has three sisters, Beth Grubb (George deceased), Lois Shaffer (Dudley), Iva Shuck, deceased (Don). She has many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, etc., and was loved by all.
Pauline enjoyed working with her hands. She worked in many sewing facilities during her life including supervising the training program for the inmates at the Utah State Prison for two years. She was loved and protected by the inmates. Later she started making custom quilts and eventually became known as Pauline's Customs Quilts. She has made many quilts for family members, everyone's baby, friends, the homeless, different charities and auctions, and Katrina victims. Her hands were never still. We will cherish the many items that she so carefully created for us. She was very well known in the quilting realm in many surrounding states.
Pauline loved her family and cherished every moment that she spent with them. Sunday (the day before her aneurism), was filled with family activities from morning til night, just the way she would have chosen if she knew this would happen.
Our family would like to say a very special THANK YOU to every medical and emergency person that touched her life and ours during this tragic four days for our loved one.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 in the Glenmoor 5th Ward Chapel, 4881 W. Cindy Lane (9610 S.), South Jordan, Utah. Family and friends may call upon us for the viewings at the church, Tuesday, August 29, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, August 30, 2006 10-10:45 a.m. SereniCare, funeral directors.
