Richard Beaver Allan

Richard Beaver Allan was born February 17, 1945 in New Orleans, LA. Richard was the first of 3 children born to Elbert Edward and Velma (Spidle) Beaver. Richard grew up in Iowa City, IA and attended high school at City High as well as earning his Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa in 1968. During college Richard was enrolled in the Army ROTC program and served in Vietnam as a 1st lieutenant from July 1969- June 1970. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal for meritorious achievement. Richard's career moved him to the West as he spent 30+ years in the Hospital Supply Industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. His mentorship touched and guided many people in their careers and he continued to have lasting friends from the industry and the community. Richard loved the rolling hills and tall grass of Danville, CA as well as the majestic scenery of Mt. Diablo but his true love was when he met and married Jeanie Mace his wife of 27 years. Upon retirement Richard and Jeanie relocated to St. George, Utah relaxing among the red rock mountainous setting of the home they built overlooking the 14th green while enjoying the activities of golf and traveling, and spending time with their kids, grandkids, sister, brother and friends. Richard, not one to ever sit idle, engaged in a new career with New York Life, he loved the excitement of starting something new. He said many times how he wished he could have learned financial planning much earlier and hoped he could help others to plan for the future. He made many good friends the past year with NYL and loved all the training. Cars were one of Richard's passions, owning them, negotiating for them and many times just viewing them at car shows or kicking the tires at car lots. It was not uncommon to see Richard with a new car often and frequently. He will be remembered and dearly missed for his fun loving, playful and teasing ways with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jeanie, three sons and five grandchildren. Rick & Mary Beaver of Chandler, AZ (grandchildren Kate & Jake), Mike & Kristina Mitchell of Danville, CA (grandchildren Mason, Milly & Charlotte), Brian Mitchell of Oakley, CA, sister Connie Throckmorton (Mike) of Littleton, CO, brother Ron Beaver (Audre) of Round Rock, TX and nieces Alison and Tracey Beaver of Austin, TX. Rest in Peace. We love you. A celebration of life will be scheduled in late January 2013 in Danville, CA. Family & friends are invited to share condolences online at www.serenicare.com.
