Richard Musser passed away on September 21, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah, due to complications of a traumatic brain injury sustained in 2020. He was 38 years old.

Richard was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose presence touched many lives. He will be remembered for the warmth he brought to those around him, for his caring nature, and for the strength and dedication that marked his life. Smart and hardworking, he carried himself with quiet purpose and took pride in all that he did.

Rich loved expressing himself through writing, finding in words a way to share his thoughts and heart. Music was also an important part of his life. He loved to play the piano and studied under a concert pianist, developing a deep appreciation for the instrument and its beauty. He enjoyed playing classical, pop, and light rock piano pieces, and that love of music reflected both his discipline and his spirit.

He began his career at just 16 years old, working for Wendy’s, where he became the company’s youngest Safety Manager and General Manager. Over the years, he worked in many Wendy’s stores throughout the Salt Lake Valley. His career also included work with other franchise restaurants, and in each role he took great pride in the quality of his work. He was known as someone who worked hard, cared deeply, and gave his best.

Richard is survived by his mother, Aleen Zitting; his father, Richard S. Musser; his wife, Linda Walters Musser; his sister, Evalin Musser; and his brothers, Samuel Musser and Davy Musser. He was deeply loved by his family, and his memory will remain close to their hearts. He will also be dearly missed by the many friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.

There will be a gathering for friends and family on Sunday September 27th at the Grant Park Pavilion located at: 6150 South Main Street, Murray Utah between 11:00AM and 1:00PM. If you wish to give flowers, please bring them to the gathering. 

Richard’s life was marked by perseverance, talent, and love. Whether through his writing, his music, his work, or the relationships he cherished, he left an enduring impression on those around him. He will be remembered with love and missed beyond measure.
