Richard Brent Philpot

Richard Philpot passed away July 5, 2023 at the age of 78 from complications of dementia. He was born January 2, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Edward Philpot and Edith Casey.  Richard married Sharon and together they had  two children; Mike and Nicole.  They later divorced.  He married Jean Swasey and they enjoyed a loving and long lasting marriage.  

Richard served in the Army Reserves from 1965 to 1971.  He worked at Kennecott for 30 years.  

Richard was an adventurous person and was a great golfer.  He loved the Oregon Coast and Golf.  He had the ability to enthrall people with stories of his experiences.  He was a good storyteller.  

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Jean.  He is survived by his children; brothers, John and Steven.  

There will be a Celebration of Life, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at his home, 8551 West 3100 South, Magna, Utah from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
