Robert Ellis von Khrum passed away on February 8, 2023. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 12, 1936, to Virginia Ellis and Paul von Khrum. Robert married Patricia Ann Craven on February 20,1954. They shared their lives together for 68 years.
Robert always enjoyed spending time with his family. Whether it be family dinners or holidays, he kept everyone laughing with his perfectly timed one- liners.
One of his earliest passions was bicycle racing. He was the first president of the Utah chapter of the Amateur Bicycle League (ABL). This afforded him the opportunity to be a mentor to young boys who were interested in racing.
Robert was an antique car collector. He loved to spend time maintaining his pristine, vintage collection. His immaculate care and preservation of the vehicles earned him the impressive “Best in Show” award at many prestigious car shows all around the West. Later in life, Robert enjoyed his model train layouts.
Robert connected with people. He made friends everywhere he went. You couldn’t get far without someone stopping to say hi to Bob von Khrum.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Debra Wetzel and Wendy (Dave) Tuckett, granddaughters Kathryn and Carolyn Wetzel, sister Karen Bertagnole, and his dog Pepe. He was preceded in death by his wife Pat last spring.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery on February 15, at 1:00 P.M. That evening, a celebration of life will be held at the clubhouse at Village III Condominiums, 1525 E Village Three Road (Vine Street) in Murray from 6:00-8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
