There is an Angler catching fish and making people laugh with his stories in Heaven today. Roy “Gary” Foutz passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2018 at the age of 85, He was born September 17, 1932 to Roy W. Foutz and LaRena Rushton in Salt Lake City, Utah, He was the oldest of 2 siblings. Gary Foutz married Darlene May 15, 1959, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, together they have 4 children, Lisa (Jed) Miller, Ryan (Tiffany) Foutz, Jennifer (Terry) Fox and Whitney Foutz, 6 grandchildren, Morgan, Corby (Craig), Austin (Kawehi), Tyler, Garrett and Jake and 1 great grandchild, Cruz.
Gary was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, had a great sense of humor, a story teller, loved to fish, hunt and spending time with his family. Gary will be remembered for his gentle, kind, loving way he had with all he met. His selfless love for Darlene and the many years of care he provided her. Dad was also a Chaplin the past few years for Access Home Health and touched many people’s lives with his kindness & support. Gary served Honorably in the Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War.
We would like to thank the many caregivers especially Symbii Hospice, including family, friends, neighbors, but especially his daughter Whitney who spent countless hours comforting & caring for dad.
Funeral services will be held Sat. March 3rd, at 11:00am at the LDS Chapel 2228 So. 1660 West Syracuse, UT 84075. A viewing will be held at the chapel from 9:30-10:45. Internment at Smithfield Cemetery, 300 E. Center St. Smithfield Utah
