Ryan Scott Edwards was born in Phoenix on February 24, 1997 and has always been a very sweet spirit in our home. Ryan fought a long, hard battle with depression, which ended peacefully on September 29, 2014. He is survived by his loving parents, Dana and Pam Edwards; siblings Christin (spouse Jared), Alex, and Sarah; grandparents Bernell and Marita Edwards, Marvin and Melissia Williams; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. For two years, Ryan has served as the tuba co-section leader in the Sandra Day O'Connor Eagle Pride Marching Band and loved those band members. He was an Eagle Scout with a huge heart for service. Ryan was always quick to reach out and help and lift others. He was intelligent and witty and could debate anything. Ryan was a very competitive gamer, and loved to win board and video games alike. He loved to watch and make fun of movies. Ryan was often seen riding his bicycle and he once beat Bart Winters in the Youth Triathlon. We love our Rhino boy. We are a forever family and are strengthened by the temple covenants that bind our family through eternity. We take comfort in the words of the prophet Elisha in 2 Kings 6: 15-17. We know that his eyes are open and his spirit is unburdened. We are not alone. We miss Ryan's wry smile and look forward to seeing it again. Ryan's funeral is planned for Friday October 3, 2014 at noon and will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building on 2939 W. Rose Garden Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85027. There will be a viewing one hour preceding. Ryan will be interred at the Phoenix Memorial Park.
