Sharon Louise Norwood passed away peacefully on July 9, 2023 in Herriman, Utah. She was born May 19, 1949 in Richland, Washington, to Virgil Herman Stucki and Virginia Kirsten Nicholes. She is the 4th child of 9 children. She graduated high school and looked forward to getting a job. She worked as an office worker in Pakistan, visited Sweden, toured Paris and Egypt. She enjoyed her profession in Medical Transcription. She was proud of the work she did for the oncology doctors, even correcting their mistakes! She enjoyed working in King Faisal’s hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for 6 years.
In 1999, Sharon met her eternal companion at church. She married James Lorimer Norwood, on May 4, 2002, in the Los Angeles Temple and they shared 21 years of a happy, married life.
Sharon has the ability to be witty and funny, even in tough moments. When the nurse said we are going to roll you over on your side, she replied, “Roll me over like a hot dog!” Family and friends loved her humor and especially the love and friendship she always gave to others.
She loved and cared for others. Because of her profession, she would lovingly and gladly help others understand oncology doctors and help them understand medical terms and options.
Her favorite church calling, was teaching primary children. She had a special love for them. She knew the importance of being loved and in her own life, so she made it a point to help each child feel special, and loved.
Sharon is survived by her husband, James, step sons Jason (Elise), Shawn, and Matthew (Brittany); grandchildren Jordan, Caden, Braelyn, Tyson, Brooklyn, Bryson, Kaleb, Dylan, and Luke; sister Paula Anderson; brothers David Stucki, Rich Stucki; nieces Lara Jarschke, Sharon Garcia, Gina Bellamy, and Lorie Anderson; nephews Michael Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Cody Stucki, Sean Stucki, and Michael Slagle.
She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Virginia Stucki; sisters Annette, Nina and Leah, brothers Kelly and Stephen and granddaughter Kori.
There will be a funeral service held on July 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. MST at the Pioneer 10th Ward, 12683 S Starlite Hills Lane, Herriman, Utah. Interment will be at the Herriman City Cemetery at 12465 S Pioneer Street (6000 West).
Her family wishes to thank Intermountain Medical Center and Community Nursing Services for the care and kindness given to Sharon and her family.
