They say “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” My sister Shaylee Boyce, known affectionately as “Bumps” to those who held her dear, embodied this sentiment wholeheartedly. Born March 15, 1994, in Logan, Utah to John Boyce & Carol Rich, Shaylee was a bright light in our lives, radiating loyalty, love, compassion, and a spirited zest for life.

​Shaylee had a great love for the outdoors, and always found beauty and peace when surrounded by nature. She found serenity in planting and gardening, a sense of adventure in hiking, backpacking and camping. Her travels took her from Hyde Park to Colorado Springs, yet no matter where she resided, Shaylee always made time to indulge in her hobbies. An avid reader, she often lost herself in the pages of a good book. Her love for music, both as a listener and a player, was infectious. But perhaps her most treasured pastime was the simple act of creating her unique blankets, a testament to her love for creating warmth, both literally and metaphorically. Shaylee was also a dedicated worker as a customer service Supervisor at Home Depot, where her compassionate nature found a home in helping others. 

Shaylee's unwavering love, devotion and loyalty for her family, friends, and her cherished animals was the cornerstone of her life, a “social butterfly”, Shaylee was a friend to so many and always loved with all she had, her infectious smile matched the bright light she shone upon the world touching the hearts of anyone she crossed paths with. 

She leaves behind a family who adored her: her siblings, Aimee (Junior) Beazer, Ryan Boyce, Wendy Garr, Derek Fossett Boyce, Kelton (Mariel) Boyce; her brother-in-law, her nieces and nephew, Kelsey Boyce, Tayson Boyce, Krystal Summers, Kiya Hall, and Payton Hall; her step-father Casey (Carol - deceased) Whitaker; and step-brother, Troy Whitaker, and so many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Boyce and Carol (Casey) Rich, and her grandparents, Jack and Dorothy Boyce.

"Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation." While we mourn the loss of our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend, Shaylee, we celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Shaylee to the memorial page, as we remember a life lived with love, joy, and an unwavering spirit. A beautiful light, and soul to sweet, pureand good for this world. 

Bumps, as you spread your new wings, free from all the heartache you endured, may your beautiful sole finally find your peace, and your heart feel all the love for you left behind as the loved ones waiting on the other side wrap there arms around you, please know you will be missed every day, your beautiful light will carry on in our hearts forever, and we will find your beauty in every sunflower as it blooms, in every sunset as it rises and sets, in the peaceful flow of the stream… for this is not goodbye, but “see you soon”.
