Steven R James

Steven R James was born on March 11, 1951 to Charles Cleve James and Erma Van Braak Smirl James in Ogden, Utah. He attended Ben Lomand High School and graduated in 1969 then went on to get a masters in Engineering and became an imaging analyst. Steve spent several years in the United States Marine Corp where he was highly decorated. He earned the Purple Heart, the Navy Distinguished Medal, the Viet Nam Service Medal and many, many more. He was rightly proud of his military service and upon retirement from the USMC spent more time in the Navy. He will be honored for his military service with full honors at his burial. Steve had many interests and hobbies including fishing, golf, camping, golf, cooking, golf, skiing, golf and being around his family. He also liked to golf. He is survived by his children Steven Joseph James and Harrison Taylor James. He loved his grandkids Kenneth Orion James, Jordyne Caylie James and Kyle Christopher James. He is also survived by his life-long best friend Marilyn Rudolph and his niece, Krista Spraycar, whom he thought of as a daughter. He is also survived by Theola (Utah), Alan (Diana) California, Charlotte (Clinton) Idaho, Marcia (Charley) Dan, Utah, Randy (Jean) Utah, Pam (Doug), Scott (Ruth) and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by Charles and Paul. The funeral services will take place at the LDS Chapel located at 3345 West 5200 South (Roy, Utah) on Thursday, July 31st at 11 am. Interment will be at the Ogden City Cemetery at 1 pm with full military honors. Special thanks to Applegate Hospice and Heritage Care Center in Roy, Utah.
