Susan Joy Barta Stevens

Susan Joy Stevens died July 22, 2022, unexpectedly at home from a fall.  She was born August 3, 1956 to Donald F. Barta and Louise R. McGeehan in Leadville, Colorado.  Her family later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where Susan grew up with 2 sisters; DeEtta Barta and Nancy Barta Roguschka.  

She graduated from Kaysville High School and went to cosmetology school where she learned to cut and style hair.  She used her skill to beautify her family and friends.  

She married Bruce Grant Stevens, October 18, 1980 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She had two sons; Curtis Jacob Stevens (Sharon) and Caleb Bruce Stevens (Sarah).  Three grandsons; Coltin Stevens, Conner Stevens and Kayson Mayo and one nephew, Dustin Peer.  Susan later divorced and moved back to Salt Lake City from California to help care for her elderly parent until they passed away.  

Susan struggled with the beginnings of dementia along with a fear and anxiety disorder.  Through all her struggles, Susan held onto her love and faith in Jesus.  She was deeply loved by many.  

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Calvary Salt Lake, 460 W Century Drive (4350 So), Salt Lake City, Utah at 2:00 p.m.  A visitation will be held before the service at 1:30 p.m.
