Teresa Katherine Hunter passed away after a short battle with cancer, January 9, 2026 in Sandy, Utah. She was born January 24, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elburn Maynard and Lilly Hooper. She grew up in Sandy, Utah. Met and married Wayne Hunter on January 12, 1992. Teresa and Wayne were later sealed in the Temple in October of 1998.  They had a beautiful baby girl, Lydia and Teresa was a typical mama bear.

In her younger years, she spent a lot of time on farm owned by friends of the family in Walsberg, Utah. She loved feeding the cows, gathering eggs and baking with Melba. She loved going to the Hogle Zoo and going to the movies with her dad and her brother Gene. When she was young she believed in unicorns and she knew how to fly, she practiced daily. Loved family trips, especially the trips up in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. Loved picnics in Murray Park.

She was known for her sunny disposition, a sweetness that affected everyone around her and her absolute opinions. Her faith in Jesus Christ was something to emulate.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Wayne; brothers, Eugene (Debbie) Maynard and Ron Maynard.  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lydia Angelica and her mother and father

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8950 S 400 E, Sandy, UT 84070.
