Vaudys Hoover was born, December 23, 1920 in Howell, Utah to John Henry & Charlotte Forsgren. She and her siblings, Cleon Forsgren, Cora F. Stevens & Lois F. Norr (all of whom have preceded her in death), grew up on the family farm in Howell. Vaudys attended Bear River H.S. in Tremonton. As a young woman she was chosen as the Queen of the Wheat & Beet Days in Garland. Vaudys loved to play the piano and dance. She had a terrific sense of humor, and always had a sparkling twinkle in her eye. When asked shortly before her death what she enjoyed most , she said "to put a smile on someone's face or make them laugh". Vaudys was a very independent woman as demonstrated by her determination to always take care of herself, her home and yard till into her 90's. Only then accepting help due to her physical difficulties. For the past 40 plus yrs., Vaudys has lived alone in Mesa, AZ She loved her career as a ward secretary in the hospital in Mesa, and retired from that position. She was also involved in the historical recognition of Wilbur St. and the surrounding block & homes in Mesa, where she lived. While married to Joseph Roy Hoover and living in Orem, Ut, Vaudys had 2 children. Joseph (Joey) Ferris Hoover, & Connie Marie Hoover. Joey, the oldest was married and a young father of 3 small children in Pleasant Grove, Ut, when he was killed in a plane crash, at the age of 27. Daughter Connie died exactly 5 months ago to the day of her mother Vaudys' death at age 61, due to health complications. Since her daughters death, last Sept. , Vaudys remained in Utah to be close to her grandchildren. She has been taken care of by her devoted grandson Dustin Hoover and his wife Aimee. She passed away at their home in Spanish Fork, on Thursday night, Feb. 21 2013. She is survived by 5 grandchildren. Russell Hoover, Dustin Hoover, and Natalie Hoover, Derek Christensen, & Kendra Dulle. As well as 17 Great-grandchildren . Vaudys' will be buried in her parents, 'Forsgren family plot ' in the Brigham City cemetery on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at approximately 2:00pm.
