Listen to Obituary

Vicki Lynne Turner, of Smithfield, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on August 2, 2025, just days after celebrating her 70th birthday. She was born July 29, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Zetta Taylor and Donald Andrew Anderson.

Vicki grew up in Meridian, Idaho, and graduated from Meridian High School in 1973. Surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, she developed a deep love for family and community that shaped the rest of her life. She attended Ricks College and Utah State University, earning degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Early Childhood Education. Vicki also pursued religious education throughout her life, graduating from the Institute of Religion at Utah State University multiple times and often attending classes while living in Logan.

A lifelong and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Vicki faithfully served a mission from August 1980 to February 1982. She followed the urging of a respected Institute teacher to serve, and she was called to the Australia Sydney Mission. Her testimony and commitment to the gospel remained at the center of her life.

On February 26, 1982, two weeks after completing her mission service, Vicki married the love of her life, Arthur James Turner, in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia. They shared 43 years of marriage until Arthur’s passing on May 15, 2025. Together, they raised seven children and created a legacy of faith, service, and devotion to family.

Vicki was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, giving her full energy to her home and family. She spent over 20 years serving in the Scouting program, primarily in Cub Scouts, and also on Boy Scout committees as her children progressed through the program. With her encouragement and guidance, all five of her sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Her family’s journey took them from Utah to California, back to Utah, and eventually to Logan, where they lived from 1994 to 2005. Later, they moved to Sequim, Washington, where Vicki found some of her happiest years. She and Arthur returned to Cache Valley in 2024, where they faced illness together with faith and courage.

Vicki’s life was marked by her passion for faith, family, and community. She was deeply involved in local politics during her years in North Logan and never shied away from sharing her strong opinions. She lovingly immersed herself in her children’s interests—whether learning sports from scratch to cheer them on from the sidelines or becoming a devoted Utah Jazz fan. Most of all, she delighted in teaching and bearing her faith to her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Arthur. She is survived by her seven children: Dustin (Paola), Ashley (Kiley), Cody, Bo (Stacy), Brock (Danielle), Roman (Jory), and Katelyn (Gregory); 18 grandchildren; her sister, LaNae Jenkins; her brother, Bruce Anderson; and countless extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at 451 South 250 East, Smithfield, Utah. Any who wish to accompany the family is cordially invited.
