Scottsdale, Arizona - Virginia Lee Capitani, 92, of Swiss Touch Adult Care Home, previously from Yates City, died at 10:54 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2014. Born September 12, 1921, in Cuba, Illinois to Lee Edward Gray and Anna Mary Winkler, she married Dominic Capitani on September 20, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are two sons, David of Mesa, Arizona, and John of Moline, and one sister, Ruth Johnson of Canton. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. She worked independently as a bookkeeper for several small local businesses and law offices in Peoria and the surrounding area. She was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Yates City. She was also a long time member of Maple Lane Country Club in Elmwood. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, where visitation will be one hour before. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to her Faith United Presbyterian Church in Yates City or to Serenity Hospice of Phoenix, Arizona.
