William John Boese

Our beloved father, grandfather and friend, William John Boese passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona at the of 88. William was born to the late Herman and Anna Foss Boese on March 17, 1924 in Hoboken, New Jersey. In 1943, William joined the Unites States Army-Air Force. William was stationed in Italy and participated in the Rome-Arno campaign that occurred January 22, 1944 - September 9, 1944. He held the specialty of Airplane and Engine Mechanic. After being honorably discharged, William enjoyed his career with Northrop Grumman, in Bethpage, New York, as a machine operator and hydraulic specialist. William was a kind, patient family man and enjoyed spending time with his daughter and granddaughter. He was a proud collector of coins and stamps. William was also considered an old-western movie buff and a big fan of John Wayne. William is survived by his daughter, Janet A. Boese and granddaughter, Julia N. Boese. William is predeceased by his parents and sister, Dorothea Boese Mueller. A Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located at 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
