Debra (Debbie) Jean Stinger, was born July 7,1955 in Twin Falls Idaho, to Leon McCalmon and Pauline Davis. Debbie returned to the loving arms of her Father in Heaven on Tuesday July 13, 2021. Debra called Taylorsville home for over 20 years.

Many wonderful memories and friends were made there. Debbie met Kent Stinger and was married for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on June 15 1973. Debbie had a great love for the temple. 

Debbie graduated from Pocatello High school in 1972. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served in numerous capacities. Her favorite calling was in primary but loved to serve and help wherever she could. Debbie had a great love for all children. Debbie was kind and giving always helping wherever she was needed. Debbie had a great talent for making and decorating cakes and loved to make them for all the nieces and nephews as they grew up. Debbie loved sewing, she made her niece a beautiful wedding dress, sewed roman shades for her sister-in-law, and made clothes for her daughter’s and granddaughter’s. Debbie loved to crochet, she made many beautiful blessing dresses and booties for many co-workers and friend’s never asking or taking any money. She crocheted blessing dresses for her granddaughter’s. She would crochet around baby blankets and give to anyone she knew that had a baby. She loved to cross-stitch. She loved quilting, she even won second place in the 1976 state fair for lap quilt she had made. She found joy in also painting porcelain and has made many Christmas decorations and figurines.

Debbie worked for Signetics where she met one of her best friends Jodi Walser( who proceeded her in death). She then worked for the University of Utah hospital and Clinics as a medical insurance rep. for many years. She then fell in love with Scentsy and was a consultant for several years.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Kent Stinger of Murray, Utah. Two daughters: Heather Dutson, West Valley, Utah and Kiessa (John) Lewis, Taylorsville, Utah. Her brothers: Jerry (Linda) McCalmon, and David Mccalmon, and her sisters: Helen Stocks, and Joanne. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Pat Holiday. Debbie leaves behind 8 grandkids and 6 great grandkids with one great grandchild on the way. Debbie was a loving, kind person and will be missed by all her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS Bennion 19th ward Building at 6250 S. 2200 W Taylorsville, UT at 11:00 am on Friday July 23. The Stinger family would like to thank IHC Murray, Ut Shock Trauma ICU staff for taking care of Debbie in her final hours and for their hard work to help her. We are all grateful for how hard you worked to help her.
